Dance World Cup
Dance World Cup has over 12,000 children from around the world aged from 4 to 25 aiming to qualify for the final which is held annually in different countries.
In February 2017, we received the fantastic news that 30 of our pupils had been selected to represent Team England at the Dance World Cup 2017 in Germany in June 2017!
On Friday the 23rd of June, the streets of Offenburg’s Marketplatz were filled with passionate dancers from 49 countries parading, singing, cheering and carrying their countries flags with pride for the Dance World Cup opening ceremony. The echoes of national anthems being sung was truly an amazing experience, uniting countries through the language of dance.
Sandford School of Dance as members of Team England, competed with three group dances; a modern dance which was a tribute to Aberfan, the Welsh mining disaster for its 50th anniversary, choreographed by Sian Sandford, a character ballet group, Ladies Day at Ascot, choreographed by Amy Hubbard and Sian Sandford and a Commercial Hip Hop number, No More Housework, choreographed by Holly Parello.
